Welcome to Les Jonquilles our Brittany Holiday Gite. Les Jonquilles is a pretty self-catering gite in the heart of Southern Brittany, traditionally built in local granite and situated on the outskirts of the charming commune of Le Guerno. It stands on an acre of well maintained land, and is accessed by a private road, with ample secure parking. It is in a very peaceful and private situation making it the ideal location in which to sample the fresh taste of rural France and you will be welcomed personally by the resident owners Paul and Lorraine who live on site.
Our part of Brittany boasts its own microclimate giving longer warmer summers and milder spring and autumn seasons. Situated between the Gulf of Morbihan and the Loire Valley, we enjoy one of the best climates to be found in France and our sunshine rate rivals many of the more southern areas.

Accommodation This is on two floors, consisting of two double bedrooms upstairs, one with a double bed, the other twin beds and both have large fitted wardrobes and separate drawer units. On the ground floor is a large fitted kitchen diner with home from home facilities which include: oven, five ring gas hob, microwave, refrigerator with freezer compartment, coffee percolator, toaster, crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils. The fully tiled bathroom comprises of vanity unit and bath with overhead shower. There is a separate w.c. and full laundry facilities. The lounge includes two, two seater settees, English TV, DVD player, hi fi system and small library of books.

On the sunny south facing patio there is a table, chairs and barbeque for al fresco dining, or if you just want to lie in the sun, then take advantage of the sun loungers and a book and perhaps a glass of wine (or two) and relax in the garden. The only sounds you will hear are the numerous birds in the garden, the cows mooing in adjacent fields and occasionally the soft hum of tractors in the distance - it really is another world. There is a table tennis table for the more energetic and enough space for the children to play ball games and run around and in addition there is a large enclosed garden with swings for children. There are also various board games in the gite. For the walkers amongst you we have a selection of books with detailed walks in the area that range from 4kms to around 16kms.

We are only 20 minutes away from various beautiful beaches and only 40 minutes from the beautiful resort of La Baule which boasts the longest sand beach in Europe. There are numerous places of interest, all a short drive away; Rochefort en terre with its numerous art and craft shops, restaurants and its very own chateau is ranked one of the most delightful villages in Brittany; Roche Bernard, a port and marina with a museum of maritime history and weekly market on Thursday mornings; the medieval rampart cities of Vannes and Guerand and the beautiful Golfe de Morbihan with its numerous islands to explore. We can also boast our own delightful chateau wildlife park Branféré just 5 minutes away and numerous restaurants, bars and markets all within 10 to 30 minutes away.

We are easily accessible from the channel ports, under two hours from St Malo (ask us about ferry reductions) and under an hour from Nantes airport. Long Lets Les Jonquilles has on a number of occasions been host to house hunting guests for periods of up to 4 months at a time.
